Travel Team
The picture to the left shows me with the MUN@UCLA travel team at TROJANMUN in LA. For each conference, team members must try out in order to be chosen for a spot. For upcoming conferences, we practice one to two times a week.
Staffing Conferences
During Freshman year, I staffed both conferences which were held by MUN@UCLA, BRUINMUN and LAMUN. For each event, I was a crisis staffer who helped plan the committee, act out updates, and write notes to delegates. Each week, we had a general training with all the staffers and a separate one for our committee. Unfortunately, LAMUN had to be canceled due to COVID-19.
Chairing Bruinmun
For BRUINMUN 2020, I chaired the United Nations Committee on the Status of Women (UNCSW). This meant I was a senior staff member in charge of planning my committee, writing a background guide on my topics, and training my staffers. The two topics of this committee was Child and Forced Marriages and Increasing Women's Political Engagement in Developing countries. Due to the pandemic, this conference was online through zoom. I had an amazing time hearing all the great debates and ideas from my committee!
